Isn’t animal farming a big market?
Although the closest that most people get to animal farming is when they pick up a steak in the supermarket in fact it’s a massive market worldwide. That’s easy to see if you look at the source of the various cuts on display in a large supermarket of course.
However, it’s a strange market on the whole and selling cattle supplies as whilst the market itself is very large, the companies at the production end of the supply chain are made up of a massive number of small businesses ie farms. Sure there are large farms too but they’re generally outweighed by the very large number of fairly small outfits.
This kind of market structure means that sales to the companies (ie the farms) are treated almost as normal consumer sales with the associated online sales that you would expect these days. Relatively small orders are the norm in many countries albeit with quite large orders from some of the producers.
