Do you do all your own document scanning?

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

For personal scanning I’m sure the answer is generally yes though I’m tempted to get my slide photos scanned in sometime as I don’t think I’ll ever get around to doing it myself.

These days there are lots of document scanning services which take all the nasty business of scanning off you if you’ve a high enough volume needing dealt with. That’s how many companies operate when they want to get rid of their heap of paper files.

Boy does it get shot of a boring job!

Are all the airport security people fat?

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Wendy’s addicted to watching those airport shows though I think they’re running out of interesting angles if some of the recent ones are anything to go by.

The odd thing with most of the airport jobs is that the people doing a particular job seemed to have been specially selected to be bad at it in a lot of cases. I’m sure that the selection process didn’t choose them because they were that way but it would seem that the job changes you.

In one recent programme it would appear that they select all the airport security people to be fat for instance which somehow seems wrong…

Why do people bother with eye wrinkle cream

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Amongst the earlier signs that you consider yourself getting old is that you start looking at eye wrinkle cream.

However, you very quickly find that these are essentially polyfilla for your skin rather than something that actually fixes the problem. So, they’re cosmetic rather than medical products. The problem with that is that advertising gets a lot of leeway in what they can get away with saying for cosmetics: none of the hassles of having to prove any medical benefits (nor even safety) for these products.

Since they don’t fix the problem you end up having to continually apply them to paper over the cracks which makes for a lot of spending on them over the years.
