What happens when the time of magic arrives?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

As we’re in the midst of the Pope’s visit to the UK, it has set me thinking about all the problems that new technology must create for the church.

Whilst we might laugh at the mess they got themselves into over Copernicus and Galileo over the issue of the Earth no longer being at the centre of the universe and moons appearing through telescopes which weren’t recorded, there are even more of these fundamental problems arising in the present day. Personally I think that the biggest of these is that in many cases death isn’t permanent these days but that’s something that the church seems largely to have quietly accepted. Recently though there’s been the addition of the creation of new life which seems like something that the church would have issues with but seems to also have ignored.

I suspect that their problem is that there are so many instances of what would previously have been classed as miracles which occur pretty much every day nowadays that they don’t get as worked up about such things as they would have done in earlier times.

Should you look at the side-effects rather than the effects of diet pills?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

The big problem with diet pills is that they’ve gone from single-effect pills to mixtures of ingredients that are designed to tackle everything that could possibly help you to reduce your weight.

Thus extenze side effects ends up with a long list of side-effects when previously a simple pill would have a fairly short list of potential side-effects. It’s important to note that they are potential side-effects as whether you’ll experience any of them depends on your own situation. For example, you won’t get the “leakage” side-effect from the fat absorbers if you have a fairly low fat diet.

Are diet pills safe?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

You’d like to think so but asking “are diet pills safe?” isn’t a silly question.

The reason is basically down to the side-effects of some of the ingredients and how they apply to you. For instance, if you’ve high blood pressure you might find that those containing a lot of caffeine don’t agree with you but the very same pill could work just fine with other people. Similarly, some of the extreme pills can be fine for a lot of people but could be quite dangerous for others.

In fact “safe” is a term that needs to be considered in respect of your own health.
