Finally I’m getting around to trying the diet pills
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009Yes, I know, I’ve been prevaricating over them for months now but I’ve finally got the finger out and starting using some of them.
So what are the best diet pills? In that I’ve really no idea I figured that the best plan was to run with the cheapest in the supermarket and see how that went. At around £3 ($5) for a months supply there’s no real financial downside.
The price dictated a natural remedy, namely Bladderwrack which, as far as I can make out, functions mainly through stimulation of the thyroid ie it speeds up your metabolish a little. As always with natural remedies, it comes with heaps of other potential uses including tiredness (from the thyroid stimulation), dry skin, constipation (presumably it “clears you out” to some extent), and is generally considered a tonic for children who are a bit slow mentally or physically (the thyroid stimulation again).
Side-effects? Well, none are listed though obviously you’d not want to be taking it if you have any thyroid problems in that it messes around with your thyroid.
Does it work though? Ah, well, that’s the big question. Frankly it’s hard to say with these things as people tend to do many things at once to lose weight (or they should do at any rate). I for one have upped my exercise a little, cut the salt intake drastically and generally moved to healthier foods. Through this pill into the equation and it would probably be more surprising if I didn’t lose weight than if I did but then it’s the “losing weight” that’s my objective, not proving or disproving that a particular approach works… ’til I write the diet book, of course
