Clearing out your colon

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

One of the worrying things about some over the counter drugs available these days is that some of them seem to have gone out of their way in seeming to need to be used under medical supervision which, of course, is the one thing that’s absent in the case of an over the counter medicine.

Take Colonix for example. This is one of a range of treatments designed to clean out your colon which is something that you want to take some care over as it’s quite an important part of your body. If you don’t follow the directions to the letter you can look forward to headaches, painful cramps and dreadful constipation. Frankly, I for one would prefer to do without side-effects like that.

There are other treatments available in this area, generally with the typical diet pill level of pricing although it’s sometimes possible to obtain one or two of them on a free trial which is always something that it worth taking up as you often can’t tell in advance if a given treatment will be fine for you.

Finding the perfect hotel

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Somehow none of the hotel search engines ever seem to get it quite right when one’s looking for a hotel that meets a specific set of requirements.

Take airport hotels for example. Sure, you’ll find that the hotel search will let you look for a hotel near your airport but often they don’t bother to add that all-important search option ie does the hotel have a shuttle and is it free? Most older sites don’t mention wifi at all even though many (not all) of the aiport hotels will include it but even those that do rarely mention the charges for the wifi access (some are free, others extortionate). Actually, on that front, I wonder how long it will be before there’s an outcry over wifi access charges comparable to those of the phone charges? Or will we all simply go down the USB wifi adaptor route?

So it’s a pleasure to find a San Diego California hotel that goes to the trouble of offering both a free airport shuttle and free wifi and, equally importantly, saying that it offers these right on its website. It’s even got free local calls too!

Time to consider an admin job?

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

With the global economy being in the current mess, many people are having to consider a change of career right now.

But, where would you look that’s doable with your current skill set yet simultaneously being a relatively secure place to sit out the recession? One possible avenue is in the area of admin careers which many people look down on as being humdrum and boring. Certainly that’s true of some but then it’s true of some jobs in all fields of work.

In fact, the “admin” umbrella covers a whole multitude of different jobs from the most junior clerical end right through to top managers. Not only that but administration is a function that’s required in all fields thus you can find some admin jobs in rather interesting niche industries if you look hard enough.

As always, the problem these days is making yourself stand out from the crowd and it can be a particularly large crowd sometimes: only recently I read of one job getting 500 applicants. With that in mind, it’s best to spruce up your qualifications whether or not you are currently in need of a job.
