These days it’s pretty much taken as-read that education requires a completely multi-media approach and yet what’s been occupying a lot of my time over the last week or two has virtually no hi-tech component at all.
What I’ve been working my way through is the excellent introductory psychology course from Yale. This is basically a video of the live course given in Yale in the Spring of 2007 with some bits cut out due to copyright (generally no more than one or two per 60 minute lecture).
There’s no interaction, no feedback, none of the stuff that we expect in DVD produced courses these days and yet almost all of the lectures were riveting. In many ways the presentation is little different to university courses that I did more than 20 years ago: so much for our “need” of all the hi-tech displays!

You’ll have come across the fat burners and fat binding products I’m sure. These attack some of the causes behind weight gain ie slow metabolism and too much fatty food.
However, another approach is to consider the so-called superfoods. These pills such as Orovo instead aim to improve overall health and to produce a, hopefully, permanent weight loss. Cost-wise they’re around the same as standard diet pills and, as always these days, come with a whole host of other ingredients in the mix and with caffeine and caffeine-free versions.
Worth looking at for a slightly different approach to attacking the excess weight problem.

Not so long ago digital style signs cost a fortune and only the largest businesses had them but with the tumbling prices of flat screen technology even the smallest businesses are in the market for digital signage these days.
Is it effective though? As always, the answer is “it depends”.
Certainly, if you’re only replacing a static poster with a digital version then the answer is probably not. However, you can use these displays for much more eyecatching displays than any static poster could ever hope to manage. Rolling displays of all of your wares are easy to do but you can go beyond that and include demonstrations of your products, assembly demos if applicable and, of course, display any media advertisements that you may have as well.
With prices at the level they are now even the smallest corner shop can consider these.
