That’s something that many people would like very much these days but it’s a big step to move from a secure job (if any job can be called secure these days) to the point where you’re working for yourself.
However, one way to considerably reduce the risk element is to consider a franchise. These days there are simply thousands of different ones around and one of the biggest problems is thinning out the competing offers to find even a short list of those that you might be interested in. An even lower risk way is to consider those that regularly get high throughput of customers and which are also fairly cheap to get into. Of these perhaps the coffee franchises are those that you’ll have seen most around the streets of your own town.
For the most part these are fairly well known names but there are lots of competitors in this area so you should have a reasonable selection should you choose this particular route. Don’t forget to balance the higher buy-in costs of the best known names with the higher support and brand recognition that they provide against the lower buy-in costs but correspondingly lower support that you could expect: you might think that selecting the perfect spot for the outlet is simple but in fact there’s quite a lot of research that goes into the location for the most successful spots.

Once the news of a new baby hits the streets, you’ll find that you’re innundated with a whole heap of offers of both new items and those that have been in the family for generations.
Much as it may sound cute to use the cot that your granny used when she was a baby and various other similar items that have survived the generations of abuse that such things tend to get, you need to consider the safety aspects of things such as crib bedding. It may well be traditional for that particular cot to have been used for generations of your family it’s very unlikely to meet the current safety standards if it’s more than even a few years old and the bedding will be full of all kinds of nasties from previous occupants too.
So do consider the offers but think about whether it’s a good idea to use them rather than accepting them without question.

What’s most striking about the developments in medical technology over recent years isn’t so much the big ticket items but rather the small items that you find in the stores for ordinary people.
For instance, you can now pick up a pulse oximeter for next to nothing and keep an eye not only on your pulse but the oxygen level of your blood. Downsides? Well, you’d not want to be getting overlly hyper about variations in the level during the day as the measurements are affected by temperature (cold hands are going to have lower blood flow for example).
Fascinating nonetheless to see such a gadget on the shelves in the pharmacy though.
