I think that perhaps the oddest part is the vast array of things that people hand out to promote their business.
In a lot of cases these are completely irrelevent to that business. I well remember one particular stand that I went to at a trade show that had a really neat line in marketing pens which went like hot-cakes because they were so cute.
Now, pens are a good thing to hand out as people tend to keep them for a while but the problem in this case was that they’d put on just their company name. No phone number, no e-mail, no website. And, that company name wasn’t overlly relevant to their line of business.
Net effect? They handed out a LOT of pens. I still have mine. I’ve no idea what the company does though!

I’m sure that many of us would be quite tempted not to bother with auto insurance if they could get away with doing do legally.
After all, many people don’t even bother to claim on their insurance for small claims as it would just mess up their claims record. Yet, if you do that, what have you been paying for?
Well, of course we’re paying for the time when we have a really serious accident and need a new car. Ah, but you don’t get a new car of course. What you are supposed to get is the money to buy a car equivalent to the one that you had. The problem with that is that it’s very rare that there is an exact equivalent which means that you’re then relying on the insurance company appointing an expert to assess just what your car should have been worth.
In our own case, the value that it should have been worth turned out to be around half the amount of money that was required to replace it with a car of the same age. Some expert, eh?

There are loads of ways of losing weight but, let’s face it, it’s not always as easy to do as we would wish it to be.
Eating less? Actually, that tends not to work as your body figures that there’s no food around and therefore starts storing even more fat than normal.
Exercise? That increases your weight initially (muscle is more dense than fat) although you do start changing into a better shape.
Which, of course, leaves technology which usually comes in the form of weight loss pills. There are several types of these which work quite differently ranging from ones that absorb fat through to those that speed your metabolism and there’s no single one that’s “best” as it depends on what works best for you. For example, if you tend to eat a lot of fatty food then the ones that absorb fat may be the best but if you tend to sit around a lot then it might be better going for those that speed your metabolism.
