Customizing your car

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Much as we all like to think of ourselves as individuals, when it comes to things like our car we’re just clones.

It doesn’t have to be that way of course as there’s loads of customization that you can make to your car if you want to make it unique to you. At the extreme end of the scale anything is possible as some car make-over programmes have shown but at the other extreme you can do really simple things like adding led tail lights. Sounds like a trivial thing to do, and it is, but it’s one of the very simplest things that you can do to make your car really stand out.

Which naturally isn’t to say that you can’t completely redo your entire car if you’ve the time & skills or the money to do that.

Pets needs loads of stuff, don’t they?

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Depending on your pet, you can sometimes find yourself virtually living in the pet shop sometimes.

Normal pets aren’t so bad but when you start looking into the pet supplies for larger or more exotic animals your shopping list can grow to enormous lengths. Horses are probably amongst the worst offenders with all kinds of expensive gear required (for you too, of course) and that’s before you even consider anything that’s even the least bit trendy too.

Still, at least these days you can get the majority of the gear online. Smaller pet shops just don’t have the resources to stock the full range of pet paraphenalia and, of course, you’ll usually get the stuff cheaper too.

Looking for a good watch?

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

When most people think of a “good watch” their first thoughts are generally centred around Rolex but that’s not always the best choice.

Rolex are certainly a good brand alright but they’re very much chunky watches. If you’re looking for something more elegant Patek Calatrava are the way to go. They’re no less rugged but don’t look it. Although it’s more of an elegant range than Rolex, prices start around the same level (around the $5000 mark gives you a good selection) but then head off into the stratosphere with prices going into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

OK, the top end will be more expensive than a normal watch as there’s a lot of gold and precious stones involved, but why at the low end? Basically because of the quality. These aren’t battery powered quartz watches but instead use proper clockwork mechanisms and built to last you a lifetime too.
